How to print passport photos on 4ร—6 paper

Photo studios charge $15 or more for two passport photos. A standard 4ร—6 inch (10ร—15 cm) photo print costs well under a dollar and holds six 2x2 photos or eight 35x45 mm photos.

1. Make your photo sheet

Open the passport photo maker, choose your document, add your photo and check the head guides. Under Print sheet, choose 4 ร— 6 in and press Sheet (JPG).

2. Order a standard photo print

Upload the JPG to any pharmacy, supermarket or online photo lab and order a regular 4ร—6 print. Choose no cropping or full image if the order page offers it, so the sheet is not trimmed.

3. Or print at home

Use glossy or matte photo paper. Download the PDF sheet for A4 or Letter and print at Actual size or 100%, never โ€œFit to pageโ€. Measure one photo with a ruler before you cut.

4. Cut along the lines

Use a paper trimmer or sharp scissors and cut exactly on the thin grey lines. Keep the photos flat and donโ€™t write on the front.

Check the size

A US photo should measure exactly 2 ร— 2 inches (51 ร— 51 mm). If it is smaller, the printer scaled the file: reprint with scaling turned off.
